As part of our ongoing The International 2019 coverage plan, one thing Battle Pass owners need to do that do take up a lot of time and brainpower is those The International 2019 Main Event predictions. It can be daunting to make all those predictions and yes, it is nearly impossible to get all of them right. That’s why I am here to help those stuck on predictions and share my thoughts about the predictions with our readers.
Please note: The International 2019 Main Event predictions only lock on 15 August 2019, so you have a lot of time to channel your inner Oracle and get those predictions set. I am doing our The International 2019 predictions a bit early to give everyone enough time to go over them, discuss possible alternatives or mock me in the comment section for some of the picks.
There are a total of 40 predictions, 10 in each section that Battle Pass owners can make and for almost every one of them you will need to spit-clean that crystal ball. It is nearly impossible to get all the predictions right and there are a few big factors at play here. First off, there has been a gameplay update since the last Major, which means the metagame might have shifted and we don’t know exactly by how much. Further, as is tradition, The International has its own metagame forming throughout the tournament as teams figure each other out and new drafts come into play throughout. One can go so far as to say that in the Grand Finals alone, a little metagame of emerges.
With that in mind, before we get to the predictions, I want to give you some insight into how these The International 2019 Main Event predictions were made. First off, analyst and pro player predictions were taken into account, from Henrik “AdmiralBulldog” Ahnberg to analyst Spectre and more. You can check out their predictions as well as many other by following this handy link.
Some tournament predictions are based off last year’s results, while hero predictions are based off stats from previous majors, as well as gut feels of how the recent gameplay update affected the metagame. Furthermore, player predictions are based on performances and some ideas of what might happen, for example, Maybe from LGD could just completely go off in one game with Storm Spirit and get the most kills, while the highest kill average could be another player.
Some picks are also linked to each other. For example, if I think PSG.LGD would play the longest game of The International 2019 in my Main Event predictions, then they would probably have the most assists as well. Highest last hit average and highest last hit in a game could also make sense. Then, I’ve got some more player specific picks, for example, Arteezy will likely play an Alchemist game and farm the whole time, which could lead to him having the highest GPM in a match.
Lastly, a note about the team predictions for The International 2019. I picked OG to win simply because they have been my favourite team for a long time and if there is any team that can make history and shock everyone, becoming the first two-time The International champions, it is them. However, if you want to go with current best teams in the world, Team Secret, Virtus. Pro and Vici Gaming as well as PSG.LGD are fantastic picks as well.
As mentioned at the start of this article, The International 2019 Main Event predictions are nearly impossible to make if you want to get them all correctly, or even half of them for that matter, unless you are Merlini, obviously…
