Epic Games has revealed the details for its upcoming Fortnite World Cup. What makes the Fortnite World Cup so exciting is the massive prize pool. The company behind this popular battle royale game has announced that the total 2019 prize pool for the Fortnite World Cup will amount to $100 million.
How To Compete In The Fornite World Cup
Online qualifiers will be running from 14 April to 16 June 2019. Each of the 10-week qualifiers will have a weekly prize pool of $1 million, “with payouts distributed broadly“, according to Epic Game.
In order to be eligible to participate in any Fortnite competitions, players are required to be at least 13-years old.
Players between 13 and 17 years of age are required to have their parent’s or legal guardian’s permission.
Players who have violated any of Epic Games’ account rules, are not eligible to participate in the Fortnite World Cup or any other Fortnite competition.
Fortnite World Cup Finals
The players who fight their way to the top of the weekly online qualifiers will move on to the Fortnite World Cup finals. The finals will be hosted in New York City and will be taking place from 26 to 28 July 2019.
100 solo players and 50 two-player teams from all over the world will compete to stand a chance to win their share of the $30 million prize pool for the finals of the Fortnite World Cup.
Epic Games has confirmed that each one of these players are guaranteed at least $50 000.
The Fortnite World Cup Solo Campion will win $3 million.
Other Ways To Win
Epic Games will continue to give out weekly $1 million cash prizes for players competing in tournaments until the end of the year. The weekly tournaments will have more modes and formats to play, in order to get more players into the competitive Fortnite scene.
Epic Games will be providing tools for weekly tournaments and prizing to select partners around the world.
