Female Sex Toy Banned From CES 2019 After Winning Award

Female Sex Toy

A female sex toy created by Lora DiCarlo has been banned from showcasing at CES 2019, after having won an innovation award in the robotics and drone category. Called the Osé vibrator, this female sex toy was granted an award by the organiser of CES, the Consumer Technology Association. However, the award was withdrawn after the Consumer Technology Association claims to have included the female sex toy by mistake.

The Consumer Technology Association has stated that:

The product does not fit into any of our existing product categories and should not have been accepted.

We have apologised to the company for our mistake.

The Consumer Technology Association goes on to cite a rule, which it claims justifies the banning of this product from CES 2019 and withdrawing the award.

Entries deemed by CTA in their sole discretion to be immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image will be disqualified. CTA reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entry at any time which, in CTA’s opinion, endangers the safety or well being of any person, or fails to comply with these Official Rules.

Female Sex Toy

The creators of the banned female sex toy are claiming that the Consumer Technology Association, as well as CES, are being biased towards the company and its female sex toy based on gender. Lora DiCarlo, the spokesperson for Lora Haddock, claims that previous companies and products have been banned from showcasing at CES because they are “female-oriented“.

Two robotic vacuum cleaners, one robotic skateboard, four children’s toys, one shopping companion robot – looks like all of women’s interests are covered, right?

Osé clearly fits the robotics and drone category – and CTA’s own expert judges agree.

Lora Haddock goes on to defend the product’s submission and claims that the Consumer Technology Association and CES have a history of discrimination against, not only women but the LGBTQI community as well.

Do you agree with the Consumer Technology Association’s decision to pull the Osé product from CES 2019?
