Death Stranding Release Date Revealed Alongside Special and Collector’s Editions

Death Stranding PC 505 games launch trailer sony kojima productions November 2019 game releases Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Need for Speed Heat Pokemon Sword and Shield

After a couple of cryptic teasers this week, Sony has officially revealed the Death Stranding release date for Kojima’s upcoming PS4 exclusive.

The trailer released alongside the release date is a lengthily one so make some popcorn before watching it. The release date was officially announced during a live stream that was more cryptic than useful. We honestly still don’t know what the game is about but it looks interesting.

Death Stranding will officially release on 8 November 2019. The new 9-minute long trailer finally showcases some actual gameplay of the game which will revolve around rebuilding a ruined society while fighting people in hazmat suits and sneaking past freaky ghost creatures. Again, it makes no sense.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Kojima left yet another cryptic description of the game to confuse us even more.

People have created “Walls” and become accustomed to living in isolation.

Death Stranding is a completely new type of action game, where the goal of the player is to reconnect isolated cities and a fragmented society. It is created so that all elements, including the story and gameplay, are bound together by the theme of the “Strand” or connection. As Sam Porter Bridges, you will attempt to bridge the divides in society, and in doing create new bonds or “Strands” with other players around the globe. Through your experience playing the game, I hope you’ll come to understand the true importance of forging connections with others.

As for the leaked pre-order content, it was real and Sony confirmed it on the PlayStation Blog. The game will come in different editions from the Standard Edition to the Collector’s Edition;

Even with everything we know and don’t know about the game, Death Stranding is still a fairly large mystery which we cannot wait to solve. With the game releasing so late into 2019, chances are, Sony is most likely pushing The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima’s release date into 2020.
