CS: GO Cache Rework Release Date Announced

CS: GO Cache rework Valve FMPONE

We got to see a bit of the new CS: GO Cache Rework at ESL One New York for the first time after the iconic CS: GO map was removed from the competitive map pool by Valve and replaced by Vertigo back in March this year. The creators of the original Cache, Shawn “FMPONE” Snelling and Salvatore “Volcano” Garozzo have been working on a Cache rework for two years. Now, the CS: GO Cache rework release date has finally been announced.

While there are some areas of the CS: GO Cache rework that will play a bit differently than the original with minor tweaks here and there, the biggest aspect is no doubt the visual overhaul. As you can see from the image above, there’s this green overgrowth look to the map representing the look of an abandoned Chernobyl.

The CS: GO Cache Rework release date for Steam Workshop (which means everyone will be able to play it) is 10 October 2019 but it probably won’t make its way into the Active Duty map lineup right away as some testing will have to be done. Further, there is no indication, at the time of writing, which map will be rotated out by Valve.

ESL sat down with the original creators to talk about work on the new Cache. Check it out below.

The famous s1mple graffiti from his no-scope dropping double AWP play from ESL One Cologne 2016 has also been removed by FMPONE, just in case you were wondering.
