Rumour – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Royale Set to Launch January 2020 – Will be Free-to-Play

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update 1.09

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to launch on 25 October 2019 and recent rumours have pointed to the game receiving a battle royale mode but just not at launch. Like last year’s Black Ops 4 release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare battle royale will see players fight it out on a large open map to be the last team standing and according to new rumours, players will be able to play the mode in early 2020.

The latest rumours come from reliable Modern Warfare leaker TheGamingRevolution who states Infinity Ward is currently working on the Modern Warfare battle royale mode and it will release at the end of January 2020. According to the leak, the mode will also be released as a free-to-play.

The tweet claims Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has gone gold and the multiplayer is done too. It also reveals the battle royale mode won’t be announced until closer to launch. He adds that while there’s no Modern Warfare Season Pass this year, the battle royale will come with a Battle Pass.

TheGamingRevolution states there’s a “big chance” that once the BR releases, items in the Battle Pass will be available in supply drops. This goes for the multiplayer mode.

Remember, this is just a rumour for now. Infinity Ward is ramping up for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and the BR mode may take some time to get ready. When it does release, it could mean users that have not purchased the game will be able to download just that battle royale mode and play it. If they wish to head into the multiplayer and single-player mode, they will need to fork out money to unlock the full game. However, this may change too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is releasing on 25 October for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
